Bucky Sitsler and his wife, Stephanie joined West Kansas Avenue Church of God in May 2013. Bucky and Stephanie have four children, Chris, Erin, Zander and Emily.
Bucky was raised in a Pentecostal Holiness Church in rural Oklahoma. As a teenager he became involved in alcohol and drug use. He spent most of his 20’s addicted to methamphetamine. On August 21, 2002, in a jail cell in Jay, Oklahoma, Bucky once again heard the voice of God. In a moment, the Lord touched him and delivered him from a life of addiction and decadence. That day he took up his cross and has followed after Jesus ever since. Bucky is now an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God. He has been called to be a pastor, a teacher, and a shepherd. God has placed within his heart a love for people.
Stephanie met Bucky in 1995 on a blind date. Seven years later, she accepted Christ as her savior after witnessing her husband’s dramatic transformation. She received a Masters of Science in School Counseling and is now employed as a counselor at Arkansas City High School and is active in children's and women's ministry.
Our Pastor's desire is to help people experience the authentic and life changing presence of their Lord. He believes the most effective method of teaching people about God and his love is through relationships.
